Registration open for Road to Omaha® Run set for June 26, 2016
(Omaha, NE) – The NCAA and College World Series of Omaha, Inc., are presenting the sixth annual Road to Omaha® Run on Sunday, June 26, 2016. Proceeds from the event will go to the Omaha Parks Foundation.
The 5K Run/Walk starts and finishes near the Lewis and Clark Landing and is highlighted by a lap around TD Ameritrade Park Omaha with all runners displayed on the video board. All race participants and supporters are invited for an award ceremony following the race. “We’re excited to again be a part of this year’s 5K run/walk, which will support the efforts of future Omaha Parks and Recreation projects and programs,” said Tiffany Regan, President of the Omaha Parks Foundation. “This year’s event will, once again, bring together many athletes, families and fun.”
The 5K Run/Walk route begins at 8:00 a.m. Central and ends near the Lewis and Clark Landing and includes views of the Missouri River, downtown Omaha, CWS Central, Gene Leahy Mall and Heartland of America Park. The run is highlighted by a lap inside TD Ameritrade Park Omaha with all runners displayed on the CWS video board. Participants are encouraged to register for the run at NCAA.com/CWS, but also can register in person at the packet pickup on Friday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Saturday, June 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge Plaza, 705 Riverfront Drive. All registered participants receive an event t-shirt and post-race refreshments. Male and female category (Overall, 18 and under, Masters) winners will receive two tickets to Game 2 of the CWS Finals, Tuesday, June 28. Age group winners will receive College World Series mementos (five-year age groups). Prizes will also be awarded for the best Male and Female baseball-themed costumes.
